Our Mission
The Canada Chapter of AILA is comprised of attorney members in Canada who practice U.S. immigration law. AILA Canada’s leadership works with its members to assist them with practice management and adjusting to changes in the law. Furthermore, the Executive Committee maintains contact with U.S. immigration agencies to for Canada Chapter to take action with up-to-date practice information and guidance.
The American Immigration Lawyers Association (known as “AILA”) is the national association of immigration lawyers established to promote justice, advocate for fair and reasonable immigration law and policy, advance the quality of immigration and nationality law and practice, and enhance the professional development of its members. AILA Member attorneys represent tens of thousands of U.S. businesses and industries, foreign students, entertainers, athletes, and asylum seekers. AILA is an Affiliated Organization of the American Bar Association.

Vice Chair – Margaret Wilson
Margaret Wilson is a partner at Pilkington Immigration Law Firm, an international immigration firm with headquarters in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. She manages the new office location in Orlando, Florida.
Margaret’s practice includes general U.S. immigration law, with a concentration in inadmissibility issues, family, and employment immigration along the Northern Border. With the addition of the Orlando office, she has added asylum and removal defence to the firm’s practice. Margaret serves as the Vice Chair of the AILA Canada Chapter the Chair, as the Chair for the Central Florida Chapter Advocacy Committee, and Immediate Past Chair of the AILA National New Member Division Steering Committee, a position through which she additionally serves on the AILA Board of Governors. In addition to her volunteer capacity, Margaret wrote a contributing article in the Consular Practice Handbook, 5th Edition.
Secretary – Andrea Vaitzner
Andrea Vaitzner is a U.S. and Canadian immigration lawyer based in Montreal, licensed in both countries and fluent in English and French. She advises businesses, entrepreneurs, and law firms on cross-border mobility, including work permits, permanent residence, business travel, and inadmissibility waivers. Her practice blends strategic counsel with hands-on support, including training for HR and legal teams and overflow assistance for immigration firms. With experience across tech, pharma, and professional services, Andrea is known for her clear communication and steady guidance through complex immigration matters.
Treasurer – John Carroll
John Carroll is a U.S. immigration attorney with extensive international experience and foreign language skills (German, French, Japanese, Spanish). His focus is on Business Immigration (including H, L, TN and PERM), as well as O-1 and EB-1 Extraordinary Ability categories. He is a member of the New Hampshire Bar and licensed as a Foreign Legal Consultant in Nova Scotia.
Immediate Past Chair – Scott Gregory
With a background in business and process innovation before joining the legal field, it’s no surprise that Scott prides himself on his pragmatic approach and 360° view of his clients’ affairs. He brings more than four years of business immigration experience working with, and advising clients from some of the world’s largest companies to entrepreneurs, investors, and professional sports teams. This experience empowers Scott to help clients of all sizes achieve their US immigration goals, whether they be individual or programmatic. In his spare time, Scott enjoys travelling, concertgoing, golfing, and cheering on his Cleveland sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
